TreesandHedging.co.uk is the trading name of the Garden Supplies Ltd. These terms and conditions will apply to all transactions placed on or offline with TreesandHedging.co.uk.
Please read carefully before placing any order. All contracts shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and any dispute between us will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms and conditions will be deemed to affect your statutory rights.
We are pleased to accept orders by any of the following methods. Online transaction via our secure web site and payment service provider (Sage Pay). All credit/debit card transactions are subject to validation checks and are authorised by the card issuer. We accept MasterCard, Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Maestro and Paypal. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay and / or non-delivery of your order. No orders will be accepted or processed without a valid card payment in the name of the registered cardholder.
Where VAT is applicable it is displayed against each product and then calculated in the totals within the Shopping Barrow. VAT will be applied at the rate that is current on the date of the transaction being processed.

Cancelling My Order WITHIN 7 days of placing the order - For those wishing to cancel an order prior to dispatch, a full refund can be made if it is within the 7 days of placing your order. You need to inform us on email or fax and we shall arrange for the order to be cancelled and the monies refunded in full - email@example.com / 01673 818443
Cancelling My Order AFTER the 7 days of placing the order - You are entitled to cancel your order after the 7 days, however we do have to advise you that at this point you will incur a cancellation fee, equating to 5% of the order value including delivery to cover administrative costs incurred as a result of the transaction being made. You need to inform us on email or fax and we shall arrange for the order to be cancelled - firstname.lastname@example.org / 01673 818046. Your monies will be refunded to you less the administration charge.
Click and Collect Orders
For anyone wishing to cancel an order that they have placed with us on a Click and Collect basis we ask that if you need to cancel you do so in writing with 7 days of having placed the order. Email or fax email@example.com / 01673 818443
Products, prices and content
Whilst every effort is made to ensure the pictures and colours depicted on the site match as closely as possible those of the actual product,due to technical limitations, some colours may vary.
All prices are shown in pound sterling (£) with the net price being displayed in bold print and the total price, inclusive of the current rate of VAT, being displayed below or alongside it in grey.
Where there is only one price and no secondary price inclusive of VAT it will be because the product is classed as zero-rated and therefore does not attract any VAT
Prices, product descriptions and specifications are checked to the best of our ability, and whilst every effort has been made to make them accurate, no responsibility will be accepted for errors and omissions.
Any information displayed on our web site or other printed matter by the company is not regarded to be authoritative or certified as the best practice and is only considered to be useful supplementary advice to other certified codes of practice. All information on our web site is updated regularly.
We reserve the right to alter our prices and specifications without notice.
Ownership of goods
All items supplied to the customer remain the property of TreesandHedging.co.uk (the Company) until final payment of all sums owing in respect of those goods has been received in full by us.
Plant welfare and loss replacement policy
Please notify the Company within 7 days of receipt of goods to allow us to address any concerns. Within this time frame the Company is in a position to replace plants if there is good reason to do so. Following that period, the Company cannot be held responsible for the health and welfare of plants.
The Company cannot be held responsible for losses discovered within your planting scheme during the spring or summer following planting in the winter.
Why do we have to implement such a policy?
We pride ourselves on supplying healthy plants of the highest quality. However, it is not unusual for natural losses to occur following planting, even where good plant husbandry has been upheld, with the risk of losses being slightly higher for bareroot stock over and above rootballed or containerised.
Many factors exist which may have either a ‘positive’ or a ‘negative’ impact on the loss rate experienced, such as the storage and handling of plants upon receipt, the quality of planting, ground conditions, soil type compatibility, rainfall, drought and on-going maintenance. All of which are beyond our control.
We advise every customer to allow for this potential loss rate and to budget for replacements for two to three years following the initial planting.
Despatched with every order is our Plant Welfare Guide including what checks to make on receipt of plants, how to look after plants before planting out, as well as how to correctly plant and maintain them. Further, more detailed information can also be sought from our sales team or on our website.
The guides we offer are not provided as a 100% guarantee for plant success but as a help to reduce any potential loss rate. We will always do our best to look after our customers and offer further advice and guidance as required.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulation 2006 (WEEE)
Statutory Instrument 2006 No. 3289. Like for Like Take-Back Service
If you are buying a new electrical item, we will recycle your old one for free on a like-for-like basis.
Garden Supplies Ltd (trading as Trees and Hedging) is obliged under the regulations listed above to offer our customers free take-back of their old electrical equipment on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.
As part of our legal obligations and our commitment to helping to preserve our environment, we are advising you not to throw electrical equipment in your general household rubbish bin. This is because:
- Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste.
- Electrical equipment can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment.
- If we do not recycle electrical equipment, it will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.
How this works for our customers:
For example, if a customer bought a new heated propagator from us, we will accept them returning their old heated propagator to us on this take-back system. By disposing of it safely ourselves, we will prevent it from going to a landfill site.
Unwanted Electrical Equipment that is eligible on a take-back basis should be returned to us within 28 days of purchasing your new product. As we are an online company only, it is the responsibility of the customer to transport, or to pay for postage of, the unwanted electrical equipment to the following address:

Garden Supplies Ltd will then make arrangements for these goods to be re-used, recycled or disposed of safely.
Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol (shown left) in order to encourage the recycling of electronic equipment.
Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.
